Earlier today, Nokia held a press conference held in London to announce their new flagship smartphone, the Lumia 925. The 925 has seen a progression in design over the previous released, Lumia 920, and sports a lighter metal design. The flagship device features a Dual-Core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 2000mAh battery, is 8.8mm thick and weighs 50g lighter than the Lumia 920, at 139g. The 4.5” AMOLED (1280×768) display now has 2.25 D sculpted Gorilla Glass 2, and offers ClearBlack, High Brightness Mode, Sunlight Readability, and Super Sensitive Touch for glove and nail usage.

The Lumia 925 does support wireless charging, although users will have to purchase a separate cover and charging accessory to make use of this functionality. These covers come in red, yellow, black, and white, which adds some additional colour to the standard black, white and grey offerings. Despite its PureView rear camera only offering 8.7MP in resolution, Nokia’s new Smart Cam app (running on Windows Phone 8) provides a lot more functionality over previous models. The app is able to take 10 images in a burst, and provides the user with a number of options such as Best Shot, Action Shot and Motion Focus, to name a few. The Carl Zeiss lens has also been updated to provide sharper imagery.
