The most powerful smartphone sparks everyone’s creative inspirations
“At the Samsung World Tour event held yesterday, 19th October 2012, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in Cape Town, South Africa, Samsung introduced the GALAXY Note II, a whole new level of innovation for the GALAXY Note category. The new Samsung GALAXY Note II enables unique experiences in personalised and expressive content creation; making it the ultimate smartphone for on-the-go creativity.”
“Last year we launched the GALAXY Note, which opened a new category of smart mobile devices. This year, again, I am proud to announce the GALAXY Note II, which will encourage users to ‘unleash their inner creativity,” said George Ferreira, VP and COO of Samsung Electronics Africa. “With a perfect viewing experience and unique and differentiated features, users can discover information and capture their ideas faster, express thoughts freely and manage tasks more efficiently. For anyone who wants to be creative, expressive and unique, the Samsung GALAXY Note II will be the ideal device, allowing users to live a life extraordinary.”
The Galaxy Note II was launched as part of Samsung’s World Tour, which features destinations such as New York, London, Jakarta and, our own mother city, Cape Town.
If you loved the Samsung Galaxy SIII, then there’s no doubting you’d love the Note II. With a screen size of 5.5”, and an HD Super AMOLED display, the results are nothing short of amazing. The smartphone/tablet (or phablet is it is more commonly known) features all the same features and functionality as the SIII, with a bunch of additional items to keep you surprised for longer. At first glance, you cannot get away from the fact of how big it really it. Surprisingly, though, the device isn’t that hard to manage when performing basic usage such answering or making a call, unlocking the screen or sending messages. When using additional features, however, you will definitely require both hands, as reaching across the screen is something only basketballers could achieve.
The Note II is not simply a large-screened smartphone; beneath the hood you’ll be happy to find top-of-the-range specifications. This includes a 1.6GHz Quad-Core CPU, 2GB RAM, 8MP rear camera, S-Pen and 3,100mAh battery, to list just a few. In addition, the device is loaded with the latest version of Android OS, Jellybean, including an updated TouchWiz UI, which has seen a marked improvement since the Samsung Galaxy S was released in 2010. TouchWiz on the Note II features a number of S-Pen optimized apps, which is a dream to work with, even after just a few short minutes experience.
The Samsung Galaxy Note II is available at both MTN and Vodacom for roughly R8000 cash price.
