CryTek’s Cry Engine 3 Soft-Body Physics

Two weeks ago we posted a preview of the new Unreal Engine 4. Crytek, the creators of the Crysis game franchise, has put a lot of time, money and effort into a gaming engine of their own. Although CryEngine 3, the latest iteration, has been around for quite some time now, they have continually been improving the SDK, offering new graphics and physics features with every iteration. This latest update enables game developers to further engineer realistic environments.

Earlier this week, they showcased their CryEngine 3 Soft-Body Physics, which allows for more realistic damage to vehicles. The video below was created through the use of the soft-body physics engine, called Beam, by Team BeamNG.
