The Countdown to the 11th Annual Free Comic Book day 2012 has begun.
What is Free Comic Book Day?
Free Comic Book Day is a single day – the first Saturday in May each year – when participating comic book shops around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE (yes, they really are free) to anyone who comes into their stores. Free Comic Book Day started in 2002 and is coordinated by the industry’s single large distributor, Diamond Comic Distributors. Free Comic Book Day is often tied to the release of a major theatrical film adaptation of a well-known comic book. This year its the Avengers movie (May 5th).
Which comic books are being given away?
This year there are over 40 special FCBD edition comics to choose from, one per person NO purchase required! (while supplies last of course) There are a number of highlights in the selection which include Spiderman Season One, Voltron Force Shelter from the Storm, 2000 AD Judge Dredd, Star Wars Serenity, DC Comics New 52 Special Edition and Avengers Age of Ultron Point One.
